Keona Salcedo
Nutrition Educator
Keona Salcedo brings a passion for promoting health and nutrition within the community to her role as Nutrition Education Coordinator at Community FarmShare.
With a BA in Global Public Health and Spanish, Keona is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health at Eastern Virginia Medical School, focusing on non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and hypertension. Keona has experience in nutrition education, containing worked as a teaching assistant at Yumlish, supporting patients with prediabetes through Texas-based free clinics, and as an American Heart Association HeartCorps Service Member in the Food Pharmacy program while stationed at the Free Clinic of Culpeper. At CFS, Keona is dedicated to empowering individuals and families with the knowledge and skills to make informed, healthy food choices. She works closely with local partners to develop and implement educational programs that bridge the gap between food access and nutrition education, fostering a healthier, more connected community.
In her free time, Keona enjoys staffing volunteer ambulances as an EMT and volunteering at night clinics at the Fauquier Free Clinic. She also loves reading, spending time with her cats, and playing the piano.
